hodge
Hi guys I'm trying to tighten up my crank pulley bolt but having no success. Normally with a stock pulley I'd use a pulley locking tool and tighten it up that way but I've got a Titan pulley and have nothing to attach a locking tool too. I've tried sticking it in gear and tightening it but it turns a little and goes well spungy and wants to spring back if that's the right description. Now the bolt does seem reasonably tight now but I can't imagine it's at the correct torque setting. Any ideas. I thought of sticking a bar in the wobble joint at the front of the prop where it attaches to the box but wasn't sure how much pressure it would take TBH. TLicense
Not the most elegant solution, but it'll work.

barneybrendan
i used an old leather belt and adapted an oil filter strap type wrench, wrapped belt around pulley and tightend.then got someone else to tighten the bolt, better with 2 people though but worked. I don't know why but this just made me chuckle. Imagine a massive tuning shop the likes of Titan wrapping a leather belt around a pulley to tighten it. Awesome. Then again mate if it works it works. Chris Wilson
Lock up the ring gear, either with a fixture bolted on in place of the starter motor, or with a blunt long steel chisel through a .75" hole drilled in an appropriate place in the bellhousing. With the chisel some other party will need to hold it.
