Scott
I find it funny that the majority bypassed the galaxy and yet thats the one you went for. Another thread where the mind was made up before the thread was started IMO.

Another thread where the mind was made up before the thread was started IMO. No not at all. Infact i was more for the Desire before starting this thread. The majority view was they were both very good phones. People even posted how they prefer one and their friends preferred the other so it was down to personal preferences. From the comments left nobody really had a bad word to say about either and that is why i started the thread. I wanted to know if anyone had problems or wished they didn't get their phone after using it for a while like i did with my N97. I didn't want to make the same mistake again. I went for the Samsung because i could get it at a better rate. I'm getting it through work without sim and thats what swung it!
fuldhat
Tested both of them.. and sorry to say nothing beats the Iphone4.
supragold
The iphone 4 does look a great phone and i may well have gone for one but IMO they are so over priced compared to other phones available that its just not worth it. Without a sim the iphone 4 is twice the price of these others and i cant justify it. Plus i've heard rumors that the next iphone will be brought out early next year because of the problems they had with signal issues.

Close, they are currently in R&D with the iphone5 as an LTE device
The-Plethora
Plus with the iPhones you need to factor in all those Starbucks Lattes and Coldplay CDs
supragold
I dont know too much about LTE (other than what i've just quickly googled) but do our networks have to be LTE too? I just read AT&T etc going LTE?
JamesC
HTC Desire Z would be my choice. My Wife just ordered one, cracking phone. All the positives of the Desire with the added bonus of a keyboard. I hadn't seen these until i read your post, but i've always liked to have a physical qwerty keyboard. I'm dissapointed that they don't have the same specs as the normal desire though, slower processor, slightly less RAM etc I find it funny that the majority bypassed the galaxy and yet thats the one you went for. Another thread where the mind was made up before the thread was started IMO. I wouldn't say that the majority of people bypassed the galaxy on the first couple of pages. I'm dissapointed that they don't have the same specs as the normal desire though, slower processor, slightly less RAM etc I don't think it will make much of a difference to be honest. The processor speed of the desire is far higher than it needs to be. The ram isn't an issue either. APPS2SD is one of the major things you can do with the desire to increase the speed of the phone, I'm guessing the same option will be available for the Z soon enough. Have you seen it's boot up time Doing it all over again I would have the Z. I wouldn't say that the majority of people bypassed the galaxy on the first couple of pages. Neither would I really, it was a tossup to begin with. I stand by my statement on the mind being made up though. See it on this forum all the time. Poll - Would you go with x or y.... 75% vote "y"...... then... I went with "x". He made the wrong choice though. As an out of the box phone they might be close, but as handheld devices with upgrade opportunities they are on different continents.

Yeah you see it on this forum all the time but that doesn't mean thats the case here. I genuinely wanted to see peoples comments before deciding and for the record neither phone was really voted more than the other. I'd say it was an even split, you just prefer one that happens to be the one i didn't go for.
