AndyT
Donation sent via PP Trev. Top job you guys are doing. Can't help with transport I'm afraid, only got the Supe. Also not suitable to foster I'm afraid. I can volunteer as a driver until mid March though if that's any help to you.

We should get some vehicles for transport really, we use another company for transporting cross country at the moment but they charge 40p per mile (we pay 25p per mile for volunteers), wonder what insurance would be like on a van that anyone can drive and transports dogs! Insurance has gone up across the board Trev. Seems the companies are struggling to cope with the claims payouts these days. No win no fee type stuff and the price of repairs to the super safe cars on the roads etc.

tbourner
Freya was rehomed a few weeks ago - FINALLY!!! She has been through a lot the poor lass, much better behaved after being speyed as she was having phantom pregnancies so was constantly guarding her 'nest'. She also was found to have Pyometra which didn't help her mood. Now she's properly behaved and we were comfortable that she was safe to go to a less experienced home than we first thought. We now have text giving set up as well, so you can txt "HINF11" followed by the amount to 70070. So if anyone fancies a quick spend just text "HINF11 £1" to 70070. Donations can be made of £1 - £5, or £10 - of course you can text as many times as you like!! We've stopped fostering for now, we don't walk ours as often as we should as we have no free time with Zoe being secretary and me being Treasurer, also with her doing her behaviourist course and me doing my OU degree again next year we're a bit hectic! Really hoping Zoe can start doing behavioural stuff soon and hopefully start working from home, then she can spend more time with the dogs. Nic
Found a stray adolescent female Malamute last night roaming free around a housing estate, got hold of it's collar but it spooked and decided to use my hand as a chew toy. It was obviously lost and frightened, after a good chew on my hand I managed to pin it down and get a lead on it. The chav/gypo owner turned up 10 minutes later saying he'd been walking it off it's lead when it'd run in front of a car and then bolted. He then proceeded to beat the hell out of the dog, he was very lucky not to get a beating himself from the crowd that had gathered. People like that should not be allowed to own any animal, I'm thinking whether I should report the guy to the RSPCA, but don't want to get the dog in trouble. It was a lovely looking bitch but had obviously been mistreated and was scared.
tbourner
Husky breeds respond really badly to aggressive dominance, they usually become very fearful of their owner and then become aggressive towards people. A lot of 'good' owners get told they need to be strong and take it the wrong way so end up hitting their dogs, this is where the few aggressive Huskies come from usually. I would tell RSPCA if I were you, but know that they won't do a lot about it, if anything they'll come to you about the 'dog attack' and potentially get her PTS. We could take her into Huskies in Need or Mally rescue could take her if she's KC, but the owners would have to give her up and that's not likely. Shame, but I've started to become quite heartless (probably the wrong word) with dogs recently since we've had to accept that we can't save them all, we do the best we can but getting upset over the ones we can't help was destroying us! Nic
if anything they'll come to you about the 'dog attack' and potentially get her PTS. That's what I was worried about, going to just have an ask around, find where it lives and keep an eye out.
