Guest RayRoocroft
i went off flight sim around 2004, as doing the same thing every couple of years got a bit boring! the only thing I can see is graphical improvement but you may be able to tell me otherwise If you want a real flightsim, go for falcon 4: allied assault. CJ
Sorry to bump this up but what control thingy would you use with a PC for a flight simulator?
neo2810
If you want the full experience, buy a flight yoke with throttle unit but i find a good joystick is pretty much as good.

Dash Rendar
I think FSX is pretty awesome. But I also concur that you can't beat a beat of Tie Fighter... Or maybe some Wing Commander Prophecy. Anyway, I would highly recommend the Thrustmaster HOTAS. It's a combined throttle and stick, with 10 buttons and a hat switch, and the stick twists which is typically used for rudder control. But the best bit... It's under £40!!! I've got one and I think it's absolutely awesome. It's certainly not cheap and tacky (like a lot of Saiteks); it's a really sturdy, heavy-duty bit of kit. You can separate the throttle and stick, but I tend to leave the components together. The controls are easy to setup in FSX. I use it for various combat flight sims too. Comparable bits of kit by other manufacturers will set you back well over £100, so I think this is incredible value for money. Honestly, you can't go wrong with one of these. Snooze
I believe Flight Sim X will also be the last one in the series. I seem to recall a Microsoft announcing they were stopping development on it.
