Jellybean
Tried to get some Tyres off pneus-online, ridicolous; I never found it so hard to give a company my money I want to deliver the tyre to my parents house, whats the point it going to mine if nobody will be there; they want a utility bill in the address of my parents house under my name. Only thing I have is either a bank statement or a Credit card statement plus my debit card I paid with is under my Parents address, no dice utility bill or nothing. I cant even change the delivery address either so need to get a refund and redo the order. If you where living at home with your parents why would you have utility bills, they said I will have a refund in 24 hours I would normally go with Camskill but I need a Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 in 275 35 R19; discontinued now; thing I will just get a Falken 452 off Camskill, fed up now of sending emails back and forth to pneus-online over the last day On top of this Opie oils forgot to add in my Spark plugs to my order and now all of a sudden wont answer emails
jagman
Its because the amount of people who buy on line get the stuff delivered and then claim they didnt recieve the stuff , and promply claim back the money from the card provider . there are just as many scams from buyers of on line /remote sales stuff as there are sellers scams !! if delivered to a different address to the card holder the suppliers dont have a leg to stand on The card providers are very, very biased towards the card holder in any such disputes
Jellybean
The Debit card is in my name and the debit card is assigned to the delivery address, plus I gave them my credit card statement also associated with the delivery address Not too sure why it has to only be a utility bill; I fully understand where you are coming from, its turning into a bloody nightmare getting items over the web On a side note, finally got through to Opie Oils, order slipped the net so hopefully with get it this week
jagman
They dont know who you are ,you can find a wallet with cards in , but unlikely to find a utility bill too I used to ask for copies of id cards and or passports for overseas shipments before shipping !! Once had an order in for 250 T shirts to send to Africa , the guy must have been clothing the whole village

Digsy
Surely simply only sending to the same address as the card holder, plus using a service that requires a signature upon delivery would be sufficient to (a) stop the tyres being ordered on a stolen credit card and (b) prevent the purchaser from claiming they were never delivered? I've come courier companies that want you to jump through hoops if you want to specify a different delievry address once they have tried to deliver the item once when you were out, but never a company that needs you to prove you live where you live when your card is already registered to that same address. AndrewOW
I keep misreading the company name, just can't help it.. And purchasing rubber doesn't help with that either!

Not really no , they deny that its their signature or sign a different signature , there are always losses for suppliers ,Im sure all suppliers on here have many stories of getting had over .....usually 4 digit fraud Can you deliver to my work address? is a good sign of - this could be hookey, Yes they should ONLY send to the card address , but they try to help people out , provide a service, send to workshops etc ... People have even waited outside the nicked cards address and taken delivery of stuff , the cards are often nicked at the post office sorting ,so they have an address ,,
