Digsy
If anyone has one of these can you tell me what the battery status light on this is supposed to do? The bundled mouse lights the battery LED green for about five seconds when the batteries first go in, then it turns of and stays off. I presume that it comes on again when the batteries are getting flat. However the keyboard appears to be knackered. It worked very briefly when the batteries first went in and the light came on a dim green. Then the light went out and it hasn't worked since. I've tried zillions of different batteries in it so I know its not that. I suspect that the shock of powering up for the first time was too much for it and the poor thing died. I'll be taking if back today for an exchange but I want to pop the batteries in it in the shop this time, so knowing what the battery LED is supposed to do when the keyboard is working properly would be a help
The-Plethora
Hmm where abouts is the receiver located in the PC? I found having at the back and near a case fan results in poor signal quality. If possible try a USB extension and bring the dongle closer to the keyboard. I have the same model of keyboard and mouse at work but never noticed any association buttons on them. Try a different USB port also. Is the dongle near anything else that could disrupt signal quality like unsheilded speakers?
Jellybean
I have one too, the LED goes Green first for a few secs then off to save on power, it will come back glowing on/off red when batteries need a changing I would also reset the Bluetooth Frequency incase some device near by is on the same freq( Hold and press the button on the dongle and keyboard for 5 secs to reset, just reset either periheral within a short space of time, normally a window will come up on the pc telling you what to do)
Digsy
Thanks for the helpful replies guys, but I've tried everything in the first post already and on my version the dongle has no association button - it is factory paired to the mouse and keyboard it ships with. Apparently this means that if any of the three go wrong in the future you have to run two dongles or buy a whole new suite. Anyhoo, since apart from the very first time, the LED on the keyboard is completely off no matter how many different batteries I put in it would seem that the keyboard isn't getting any power. The mouse, however, works fine. I'll get an exchange for the lot and see if that works - at least now I can check the LED lights green when the batteries go in in the shop. Cheers!
