dr_jekyll
hello all. after toasting my brakes its time for some new pads. i run the 4 pot lexus ls 400 calipers on the front. now, i know budgiting on brakes is not a good idea, but after repairing some other parts and paying a deposit on a house im a bit skint. i did want the chris wilson race pads but i cant afford them at the moment and ill be using the car for an auto test on the weekend. iv managed to scrape up about £75 for a set of front pads and the car spends 80% of its running time on a track or corse of some sort so any reccomendations would be good thanks
Chris Wilson
I do some fast road pads for these calipers, but I need a year of origin or a pad outline to supply the right ones. I can do them within budget. Race pads are well outside budget I am afraid.
garethr
There are various "normal" pads on eBay (Mintex, Ferodo, Delphi, Motaquip, EBC Red, EBC Green). Edited October 7, 2010 by garethr (see edit history)
Dnk
Quite simple, dont do a couple of trackdays and surely the money saved from that would easily buy discs, pads, brake fluid etc;)
Rich8v
I ran cw fast road pads with groves disks on UK brakes on the llandow track day at bpu power, and they held up well.

hackin_n_bashin
I've been running ebc yellowstuff on mine, a few runs around bruntinthorpe and a lot of spirited B road driving and they're holding up very well, fronts were £55 delivered from ebc themselves but they were for monster 4's don't know the pricing for the lexus, but they're very helpful on the phone
Guigsy
I've had various ebc pads they were crap. But useable
mikeyb10supra
brake pads and budget should not be in the same sentence if you ask me
dr_jekyll
iv had oem and ebc and iv manged to set both on fire. literally flaming. and when i say brakes pads on a budget i dont mean £12.99 halfords own pads. £75 should get me good pads , just wanted to know whats best for that money. j_jza80
I've inherited 2 sets of EBC pads on different cars I've owned, changed both rather quickly. The ones on my Corrado were bordering on dangerous when pressing on. Swapped for genuine OEM and it was a different car.
evinX
Front pads from toyota cost me around £50 ish, for a non turbo, worth getting a price, if its not far of your budget go for them, no point cheaping out and risking it:) i was told to stay clear of ebc as they wear quick on the heavier cars, so i did:)
Elmo
I have had EBC yellows since Jan, they are good pads, espcially when they have warmed up a bit but they are very dusty.

Chris Wilson
They should be a lot better than what you have, as we agreed, it's worth a go before forking out for expensive race pads. Just fire over the photo when you get chance, thanks for the call. I was expecting you to sound Welsh
