Wazz72
My point was, I know the coolant was ok when it went in there as I replaced the thermostat a few months back and have been keeping my eye on it. I'm more annoyed that they didn't say anything when the car was picked up. They charged me £400 in repairs to pass the MOT, but failed to mention anything about the coolant when it was collected. They didn't mention it at all. Even if it was there fault and the told me there was a leak, I would have asked them to fix it, not just put a note on the back of the failure sheet and not mention it. As I said if the car had no oil in it would they fail to mention that. For the sake of the cost of coolant or fixing it they have now cost me 400+ and any future business that they would have ever had from me. movistar
Are you sure the H/G is gone?...do a block test first. Maybe you could be jumping the gun?
dude
I really don't see the problem, how much more of a mention than putting it in writing did you want, the upshot is they cannot be held responsible for other problems outside the MOT work, the mechanic who did the work prob never gets to see the customer and the receptionist who handed the keys back may not even know of any faults which is why they are written down, prob a lot of the reason people prefer smaller more personal garages but by writing it down they have covered themselves. The problem is if they had topped it up with water and broken something they then become liable.
Wazz72
I appreciate that dude, but my problem is it was fine when it went in, I assumed it would be fine when it came out. The garage manager was the person overseeing the work, he gave my brother the keys, but didn't mention it.
Wazz72
Just found out today that the car is a write off. The engine is knackered. So not very happy.
