Septic
Straight from the mouths of DVLA themselves, but not in Welsh (I was given that option) "The only way a new owner can tax a vehicle is to report to a Post office with the relevant paperwork" Thanks all I did it over the phone
Swampy442
You taxed a car over the phone?
Rob
Oddly, when I picked up my Landy from the garage where it had languished for a few weeks being repaired for MOT retest, I drove it home having forgotten to get a new tax disc with the fresh MOT. Waiting in traffic in the High Street, a uniformed officer was walking down the nearside pavement and looked directly at the empty windscreen showing no tax disc or even an empty holder, and just carried on walking. Amazing policework, I was actually committing an offence by driving without any tax (not even SORNED either) yet nothing was done.

Tom S
did the online thing last month and received my new tax disc for the year in 3 days... sweet Mind you, when I transferred my plate from my Supra to my first Aristo @ the DVLA office in Newcastle, a copper stopped me 2 days later to check why I was driving my car with the number plate off of a supra and he didn't believe what I had done, until I showed him the documents from the DVLA office. Then he wanted a loof at the car, g/f was in and not happy to be kept waiting..
Suprash
I'm always renewing my tax disc, but then find I can't be arsed to remove the annoying little allen bolts in my stupid metal tax disc holder thing so I can change it. Previous tax disc still in holder expired 5 months ago, new one in the glove box. ...Last time I think I went nearly 8 months. You sound like me lol, Im always doing that
