Yeah that's what I did course.... the vvti NA engine rebuild manual quotes those figures but comeon ffs you don't need torque settings for something simple like that, you know when its tight enough and matt don't know what your laughing at you wouldn't know how to work a torque wrench if it was handed to you with child instructions.. ;)

well, someone got out of the wrong side of the bed today. haha

I thought you did need to torque these as they are easily over tightened and the loops on the cam covers you put the bolts through can break quite easily.

Well I am forced to work whilst being rather unwell so... :D

I don't know if its just me but after working on cars for the last 7 years you get to know when its correctly tight. The only time I use a torque wrench realy is when im doing internal engine work , clutch/flywheel and wheels unless there's bolt that has to be ridiculously tight.

To be fair, the cam covers can crack very easily! I managed to do it fitting my polished ones and after searching on here it seems quite a few other people have done it too. I went out and bought a 1/4 inch torque wrench that went low enough to 5.4nm just for this job as i didn't fancy cracking the 2nd set of polished ones.

5.4NM is not very tight at all. Not much tighter than hand tight. If you're quite heavy handed (like me) it's easy to cause some damage lol!
