HKS dump valve vs Ebay HKS replica dump valve

theres a big different between the 2. The genuine HKS one works on 2 different internal valves making that distinctive woosh that they do. They work Sequentialy on different boost levels as its a pull type piston hence why there called the Super Sequential Blowoff Valve.

The ebay ones are 99% plastic and have 1 valve so they sound nothing like them. There is also an adjuster screw at the back and the thread goes after 1 turn.

They are utter rubbish!! I know coz i bought for mess abouts a few years back...

Chances are if it has HKS logos on it, it will be geniune though...

see look at this one...

I emailed him and asked if it was a replica, I told him I was looking for a replica one to mess about with and he came back and said unfortunatly this one is genuine. It looks real, but a fake can look just as good. But the price?! how can it be genuine for that money?

It states it is SSQV and has two valves. Who thinks it is real?

I beg to differ, fakes are hard to spot nowadays. Have a look here, they're copied the latest SQV III. As you can see there's no screw in the back etc etc. It's boxed and everything looks genuine to the unsuspecting customer. It's from a supplier in China advertising on Alibaba, there's 10's of them....

In a word yes ;) Its the blowing which is the problem tbh. Quite often with the cheaper made ones the piston inside is not machined for tight clearance, and allowing it to leak. Therefore with a boost leak it will be loosing power!

Also you may find that it doesn't open until the higher boost ranges which will cause compressor surge!

If I was you i'd either keep the stock one which there is nothing wrong with! or save up for a well made one :innocent:

Trust me I know from bitter experience that if you buy cheap you buy twice! or even three times! Its never worth skimping on the products that you fit to the car or who fits them!

Surely you could find a good second user product that is within your budget?
