Hey folks im in the computer industry but do more programming than actual hardware work, i havent really kept up with all the new technology as much as i used to so just wanted to ask a few off the serious techy guys is this machine worth the money? could you find me a better deal?

Must have more than 1 screen is the major requirement, the two 25" screens on that would do me perfect for the work i do!

The thing to watch out for with "Brand" PC's is where they try to cut costs. Commonly they boast very good specs, then stick in a cheap old motherboard in which is something you really want to be good quality. Google the motherboard and see what it says. The other option is to have one built to order (or build it yourself, google Build your own.org) which normally works out cheaper, there's one or two guys on here that do it if memory serves, cant remember who. Anyone know??

ive done my homework on the machine and it uses all high quality manufactured parts, each part of it has a 1-3 year warranty. i bought a machine from these guys 5 years ago and up till now it still kicks the butt of majority machines on the market. also the machine i bought never ever went wrong on me. i just want to know with that spec am i going wrong price wise? i really need to get back into the hardware side of things!

I threw this together very quickly but it is what I would be going for when talking that sort of money. EVERYTHING is top brands including the TFT's (Samsung).

It would be £200ish over budget by the time you bought a decent case but it would be well worth the extra money and would last for YEARS.

Edit: Just remembered, that is me pricing it from overclockers who IMO are overpriced. Ebuyer was running remarkably crap for me today (In work) so you could probably save a few ££'s on what I have listed.

Awful.

"Premium Branded" means cheap korean shite that no one has heard of.

RAM does not specify speed or "band"

Hard Drisk - No speed and again unbranded

ATI 5450s are crap (£30) - any graphics card will do duel output

Aweful motherboard - Shite spec, wrong chipset!

Crap case - No decent cooling, will lack cable management, noisy as f**k!

Unbranded Power supply - The biggest unbranded no no. Your PC will be an overpriced paper weight when that gives up (and it will).

Unbranded monitors

Unbranded keyboard/mouse

The magic 3 year warranty only covers parts for up to a year.

If you want a proper PC that is going to last, take a look at the link in my signature :)

Daman you got any suggestions then? i dont think the machine is as bad you made, i bought one like these 5 years ago and it was perfect, still super quick and never let me down.

Adnan, I totally agree with Daman. You really need to be careful of these companies who fire all the buzzwords at you since they rely on your ignorance to make you see mediocre as high end.

I could build that PC they are offering for a grand, for about £700, and that's using retail cost components.

Build your own, honestly it's a learning curve but one worth going through.

OOOORRR.... buy one through Daman's link if you want to avoid the hassle :)

ordered myself some top notch parts, going to build myself a new machine soon.

Remember to match the spec to each other, the processor should be the least technologically advanced bit you buy. There is no point in having a fancy processor with a motherboard that can barely cope with the figures.
