neilp9876
Got a quote to have a bathroom ripped out and a new one installed, including a new window fitted. It's about 5x3m and will need a few pipes moved around as well as plastering. Not including the suite, taps, tiling, flooring or decorating how much should I expect to pay? Love to hear what a builder thinks as a ball park figure. I guess it would a few days work.

I have been quoted at the high end, (3k) of your quote but it feels a lot when it doesn't include tiling an decorating.
Harry Sachs
A typical suite I'd take £200 if it was a straight swap, £250 including moving the pipework, possibly £300 if it was messy. Window fitters up here usually take £100-£130 a window. Just depends how keen on the tradesmen are to secure the work I reckon. A lot of folk are slashing their prices just to get the job. The difference in prices from up here to down there are unreal
JamieP
We normally charge about £3000 for an average size bathroom swap, new sanitary ware fitted including floor/walls all new tiled, labour only, window will depend if you need a lintel change, like for like change is a hours or so work so not much. neilp9876
Sounds about right for the area then, would be nice if I could ship the house to Scotland, get the work done and then bring it back again! We were also having a second bathroom created by taking a bit a from two rooms so it is all getting expensive, but the price is about right and it will keep the missus happy. Cheers for the replies. Scott
Wow England is expensive. B&Q would do it cheaper than that up here lol, and that would be supplying the stuff.
