Water in both front door panels? - Pug 306

Recommended Posts

Well, for the last few days ive been wiring up everything for my new sounds (taking my time as its my first attempt at an install).

It was raining heavy last night and ive come out to find water in both front door panels, with a nice little puddle just under the speaker hole's and the speaker wire's were rather wet. Anyone know if this is a common fault in 306's?

Im looking for some help/advice on what could be causing it, and how i can fix it as i dont want to connect everything up and put the cards back on knowing that the speaker wires are exposed to water? This is my first car (ph3 peugeot 306) so im rather new to these problems and solutions lol :D

Cheers

the drain holes sound like they are blocked if you have water inside the doors!!

Should be 3/4 holes under the door. Unblock any blockages and all should be well.

Check the window seals (you will get some water that gets behind them) and check the membrane behind the door card

Rain causes the water to build up.

HTH.

After a downpour I find that parking mine on an incline causes water to flow out from the wheel arch area. I once found about a litre of water in a bit of the engine bay. Right underneath the bonnet where the bonnet is nearest the door.

Crap cars. Fix it with fire.

I like your thinking :D . Got the car for free so cant really complain. It had a few wee things wrong but there sorted so this is the only problem left, for now.

I checked the seals and they seem fine. I'll have a look into the other possibilites, but ive wired everything up and its all in now as my cousin assured me they would be fine (electrician). Lets hope he's right :innocent:

Cheers for the advise lads. Appreciated! :)
