SupraDan24
Hi guys, Wondered if you could clear up a couple of Q's i have, i'm pretty sure i already know the answers but want to double check. My car is currently running 1 bar and i have an Apexi Power FC ECU and first Decat. Am i right in thinking upping the boost to 1.2 bar would require me to have a re-map due to the aftermarket ECU? Also, according to the BPU faq, the 2nd De-cat is also required? I already have a Walbro fuel pump, so i'm fine in that respsect. Lastly, does anyone have any operational info on the Apexi AVCR Boost Controller? Full spec is in my Garage if i've missed anything. Thanks Dan
Swampy442
Is a power FC a standalone or piggyback ECU? Im not sure which. The power FC will be controlling the fuelling etc so for best results it will need mapping. You can run BPU on the stock ECU Just search the internet for Apexi manuals
SupraDan24
Cheers Swampy, i'm pretty sure its a Standalone, according to Wiki it is anyway. I've give the google search ago for the manuals.
Nic
So was the Power FC only mapped to 1bar? If so then best to get it checked/mapped if raising above that. The cats are quite restrictive, running higher boost levels with either of the cats in place could generate dangerously high exhaust gas temps. Best to remove both cats if running 1.2bar. Tricky-Ricky
PFC is full stand alone, and yes it will need remapping for 1.2 bar, and unless you already have the AVCR you can just get the Apexi boost solenoid and add that to the PFC as its capable of running the boost control as well.
