Matt H
When it first came out the concept was cool - now it's just done over. My brother can do a good impression of jigsaw though. For me, the first film was a thriller more than anything else. A clever film, and if you look back - it wasn't that gory in comparison to the others. The rest of the films have been more to do with how far can the gore be pushed, with little consideration to the quality of the story. I think Saw 1 and the rest of the bunch are so far apart from each other. Do a google for Saw 4 trailer on youtube – it’s been on here before, but it’s soooo funny. About 30 seconds long. supra_aero
I saw it (saw 3d) Was the most horrific horror movie I've ever seen. Had to leave to get a water and come back in. I don't want to spoil it for you. Many left the theatre not to return It really was just incredibly horrific. Not helped with blood and crap coming at your face!! Brace yourself. I doubt I could see it keeping my eyes open throughout even a second time. Dispicable nonsense.

I'd rate saw 3d: Gore/scare factor - 10/10 easily 3d element - 6/10 Shock (twist) - 8/10 Storyline - 5/10 Overall 7/10 - worth seeing if you can honestly bear it. I almost passed out at one part. Matt H
worth seeing if you can honestly bear it. I almost passed out at one part. That bad hey! Interesting! The last time I was at a movie that had such an effect on the audience was 'Hannibal'. Just after that bit were Hannibal fed that chap a portion of his own brain, the lights came up and someone got carted out! One of the worst Saw bits so far was the DIY brain tumour op'! Was it Saw 4? Matt H
This is off IMDb (I won't read any more into it). Sounds like it might be bad then considering some of the other stuff that has been shown! "The garage trap was written for an earlier film in the series, but the producers felt it was "too disturbing" to show in a film. For an unknown reason they finally allowed it to be filmed"
supra_aero
Perfect. I'm sending my good lady out to see it tonight Please let me know how it goes That bad hey! Interesting! Was saw 4 or 5. I've seen them all but can't remember the ordering. This saw will beat all I can assure you. Saw 3d has the most traps ever in a saw movie. There is 1 so bad, they pulled it from another film as thought it was too violent for tv. But some clever dick put it back in for this installmenet lol! It's the one most discussed on movie boards at the moment - I won't spoil it for you. I'm just happy I can say I survived it and saw it without leaving the cinema entirely. caseys
Hoping to go watch jackass 3D on Friday Trailers look awesome (HD ones at quicktime.com), bit of light hearted schadenfreude to cheer you up. reminds me of 'Phone Booth' from the trailer. Ooh that's another exceptional film that I highly, highly recommend (one of my all time favs!) Phone booth was a good film, but I thought the cover for the DVD version or such was idiotic. As for the film posters the unobservant who didn't check who featured in it .. didn't know who was at the other end of the phone. The DVD version had him on the front cover iirc! Matt H
Hoping to go watch jackass 3D on Friday It does look good! I didn't even know it was coming out until last week. Jackass 2 was so funny. Brilliant infact. I thought Jackass 1 was terrible though! Phone booth was a good film, but I thought the cover for the DVD version or such was idiotic. As for the film posters the unobservant who didn't check who featured in it .. didn't know who was at the other end of the phone. The DVD version had him on the front cover iirc! oops! Thinking about it, it doesn't actually matter, there's no plot twist around the character reveal from memory.
Lbm
Please let me know how it goes Yes. Yes I will Does she vet all your horror films first? She's the perfect baromoter re; horror. Matt H
Saw 3D then....... Now having seen a good deal of 3D films, I have to say that I'm fed up with them. The technology is still poor imo and makes really impairs the visuals quality wise. Too much is blurred when things move fast, things are darker because of the shades and the overall quality is reduced. Oh, and I'm sick of novelty things flying out of the screen. So to the film itself. Well, it started off with something that ended up being completely pointless to the plot. I still don't get the point of it. The story was rubbish up until about halfway through the film. I did however, think the ending was brilliant. I doubt it was planned from the start of the genre, but if it was, then it was genius. The film finished with me not wanting it to, which is a positive for it. This may be a bit of a spoiler, but I fed up with 'everyone' failing the traps purely so they can add the gore element in. Why can't some people succeed anymore - it ruins the film knowing that they will all just die each time a trap comes in? I don't think anyone has succeeded that wasn't integral to the plot. The win / loose element is terrible. There's no suspense, they will just fail and die horribly. I’m unsure where this ‘too brutal for a movie’ scene is? I presume people are referring to the muscle car trap, but I didn’t think it was anymore gross than many of the other ones across the series of films. It’s a DVD rental I think. 6.5 out of 10, but that’s only because the ending was brill. Most of the film was filler and rubbish, but when the main plot was being focused on it was actually enjoyable. Para 2 on Weds maybe?
Thorin
Too much is blurred when things move fast This is my main gripe with 3D in the Cinema, it's very noticeable to me. Are the 3D TV's the same?

Watching a football clip, the ball faded when it was kicked. They use more sophisticated glasses for home stuff though, so maybe there would generally be an improvement? The Samsung one I tried had powered glasses - you were basically plugged in!
st3ven1
Thought I'd bump this up and ask if anyone has any suggestions for a good horror? Watched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre last weekend, forgot how disturbing it was, especially for 1974! Can see why it gets its reputation, shame it had to be remade really:rolleyes:
Guest gazza
if were talking films that i can watch over and over again there's just to many. the first 3 stars wars films( before lucas added shit to them ) alien & aliens. weird science. ( this film even now scares the shit out of me, this film put a whole new slant on what a werewolf should be and how it would behave, cold calculating animal instinct. directed by master of horror John Landis. if you get this make sure you get the remastered version and have a good surround setup, it will scare the crap out of you lol. ) all these films are from the 80's so has to be somthing to do with the filters in these films and the original feature music.
