Cars to invest in

Recommended Posts

I was chatting to the guy who owned Lodon Motor Museum for a couple of hours and he made his money buying cars and then selling them when they shot up in value(and trust me, he has made a few million from a few thousand doing this), one of his recommendations at the moment is the late 70's firebird/transam(the smokey and the bandit one)

None , due to imminent asset deflation on a grand scale , by the printing of huge sums of money , and a bulge in the population that distorts market values

It's fine, sooner or later someone will unleash the nukes and all the cars that are left will be worth loads.

I think maybe 'rat style' is a pre-emptive for that very situation.

Monsween, had a capri as my first car, was completely immaculate, i stupidly wrote it off in someones garden after 6 months, damn corners :)

SteveR, out of all the e46's that no doubt would be the one. I've always loved the e30 M3's, they seem to have gona up a lot in value, but would have needed to own one from many years ago to benefit i think.

Definetly a very open ended subject yes, was just curous to peoples opinions.

why did i sell it lol

more than that for a low millage brookie mate. Its sickening. I've seen some up at 10k. when i owned them they were around the 5k mark. Silly silly expensive these days

£1 Million:blink: I think he may be yanking your chain, there currently at about £25-35k, but I can see them at around £75k-£85k in a few years.

Why do yo think that? Just been looking at them, at the prices you've said, very nice. What is the difference between them and the GT4 and GTB

I can't wait to be post apocalypse, just driving around all day killing people for fuel, making friends with kids with razor sharp boomerangs, being chased by people who look like babies but are 7ft tall and hang wround with tina turner.

Cool

I've learnt a lot from people who have invested in cars and it's just something I have got rather good at reading over the years, the 308 is a really easy one to spot, mainly beacuse it was an iconic Ferrari of the early 80s, it was featured in films and TV series and was a poster on the wall of many teenagers bedroom, the prices fell and fell over the years as the people who could afford it, didn't want it(they wanted newer Ferraris) and the people who did want it couldn't afford it.

You then fast forward 25 years and those spotty teens who dreamt of a 308 in the mid 80's all of a sudden, they find themselves in good jobs and starting to find themselves in high managerial/director roles and they all start realising they they can afford that car they stared at for hours on end in there bedroom.

They then start buying the cars, demand shoots up and the prices rocket, a good example of this is the Countach that practically went from around £30k to about £90k over night.

HTH :)
