Cheap 'chip tuning' at AFR

dude

Recommended Posts

Just to let all you guys with turbo diesels especially know we are offering a chip tuning service, works especially well on turbo diesels but will improve petrol cars, for example a peugeot 206 TD will get an increase of around 30 hp and 50ft lb of torque with an INCREASE in mpg (if driven normally). price is normally £350 for most european cars, we will do a special offer to forum members of £250, if done in house a dyno run before and after is also possible.

Larger more exotic type cars also catered for ie V10 Tuareg, Range Rover TDV8, BMW. call for discounted price and qoute MKIV.net chip tuning.

hey dude,

im looking to buy an e46 330d as a daily , what sort of gains in performance and mpg could i expect to see

me too!

i have heard that with the fuel it saves these things pay for themselves after so many miles and with a little extra power to enjoy they're well worth doing

I'd recommend it to everyone thinking of getting it done.

My Golf mk5 1.9 tdi went from 105 to around 150 bhp and the torque has shot right up. I've noticed a difference in mpg too but unfortunately it's not got a trip computer so don't have figures for this.

Would this be a full remap or some sort of chip installed? I have a mondeo st 2.2 diesel and might be interested in this.

There is no reinstalling of chips, it is optimisation of the present file in the chip in the ecu using specialist equipment, gains will be 30bhp and 50NM of torque withup to a 20% increase in fuel economy in the NORMAL driving cycle.

Have a look here at the faq section of our diesel remap website http://www.dieselremaps.co.uk/diesel_remaps_010.htm

Dude, can you explain how you get better MPG as well as power/torque? Is it at the expense of emissions? Can you 'do' a Jaguar X-Type diesel?

I always thought it was a more efficient map by not running so rich throughout the range. Leaning it out gains power and efficiency. Stock cars generally run silly safe rich.

Basically because everything is optimised the engine becomes more efficient, as you know a more efficient engine will use less fuel, yes it is also relavent to % of throttle used ie you will need less throttle to achieve the same rate of acceleration and velocity up a certain hill compared to before it was reflashed. Its all to do with removing the smooth torque limiters therfore at light throttle you get the same power delivery.:)

Tuna are doing remaps !!!!!!!!!

Lol, Superchips. They make the bluefin handsets, plug into the ODB port and within 2 mins it is re-mapped. Simply plug it back in to put the stock map back on. Can swap about as much as you require for insurance/warranty purposes. They are a good option for a non-custom map.

Sounds almost too good to be true. Why don't more people do it?

Because most are marketed as performance upgrades and most places charge £500+ so I don't think many people are that tempted. I'm sure if they talked about the fuel saving as well as performance upgrades there would be a lot more people doing it.
