Pixelfill
I just had my renewal through for my daily driver, and I have to say it made me chuckle a little. So I just thought what's your worst ever renewal quote? Also see if you can guess what my renewal was. 1.4 diesel Fiesta 58 plate - 34 yo, clean license, no NCB (one accident, driver failed to stop so claim was against my policy) one additional driver, 28 yo, clean license, no accidents. 8000 mile, 2 other active policies (8 yr NCB, and 4 yr NCB) Fully Comp SDP+C Closest gets a pat on the back. Pixelfill
£6,530 edit: that is my guess Well so far you're on for the pat on the back, but there is a margin for someone to sneak in closer Mike

Pixelfill
I'm slightly worried at the size of some of these guesses, maybe my renewal isn't far from the norm by the way one of the guesses above is disturbingly close, to the point I'm not expecting anyone to get closer ! Pixelfill
£4,740? wrong one Renewal was £4264.38 !!! It takes the piss, how do they come up with these figures, the car is only worth about £5K, I was expecting an increase on last years, but I've been shafted good style for a lorry driver failing to stop at an accident on the motorway! Even shopping around I can't find a quote less than £1200, will likely have to get rid now. Mike

stevie_b
£1500? I'm phoning around for supra insurance at the moment, and my inner geek has decided to keep a spreadsheet record of quotes obtained. I'm waiting for a call back from the ones Purity recommended but so far it's not looking good premium-wise.
Purity14
So long as you havent modified the car enginewise (your driving an NA so I doubt you will have done ) AND you have another car - you should be okay Stevie B. You could also try Footman James since yours is a 94. Yes, my daily drive 1999 1.4 Civic is up for renewal, and im finding it had to get under £700 this year, some companies as Pix mentioned are wanting 5K from me. The car is only worth about £800 ! Safely Insured
You need to find a company who can 'mirror' your NCB. Insuring a car with 0 years NCB is always going to mean an expensive price.

You could also try Footman James since yours is a 94. You are correct: I'm anti-mods. Upgrading from standard 16" to standard 17" alloys is a step too far for me. I tried Footman James but they don't give me 3rd party cover to other cars with a limited-mileage policy. If I go unlimited mileage (I did 2000 miles last year), they were asking for a wallet-bothering £1100. For my supra, I think this might qualify for my highest insurance quote. Purity14
Why do you need 3rd party on other cars, dont you have another car with a policy that allows that?

Not true to be fair, my cheapest quotes have been with classic car insurance companies which do not require NCB.
