imi
doh!! What i meant was buy the turbo kit, then speak to the builder doing the conversion to discuss what turbos should fit that kit I would suggested the other way round - speaking to the tuner / builder before you buy anything (be it ECU or turbo kit)

AndrewOW
Doesn't need a cat. It's a '93 car. You say that, but in theory it does, as my friendly MOT place chooses not to do the high idle test to make sure it doesn't fail. Otherwise it would. Gaz6002
learn something new everyday.... what year did this requirement come in? IIRC imports over 15 years old don't require a cat, but I'm checking this now

Gaz6002
learn something new everyday.... what year did this requirement come in? I've searched and can't find it, but this was certainly the car back when I had my MR2 turbo. They could well have changed things recently though. They do have a habit of doing that. Robzki
Had mine mot'd last week, He said that pre '95 don't need to do the cat test. He tried mine anyway and it failed miserably
marc_p
Mines a '98, what sort of CAT setup would be recommended? or should I just risk it for a biscuit and run no cats.

Either a friendly MOT tester, or invest in a sports CAT, as they are available for around £300, IIRC.

mustang
Cars sold for the UK market need cats from 93 onwards, Imports have to have them if they were built after 95, I had to look into this for my last MOT
