In my opinion the lines are slightly blurred between the way you feel you do your job and the answers here that are aimed more towards the hard sales type calls. In my opinion I am one of the most well mannered people I know I have never been downright rude to anyone on the phone, its just not me, but that said it does pee me off when I'm busy and people trying to 'sell' me something won't take no for an answer. If someone rings, tells me what they are selling/giving me and I express my disinterest then they thank me and hang up its absolutely fine.
