pistonbroke Posted September 28, 2010 Share Posted September 28, 2010 This guy who I snapped yesterday in Bromley. Story goes that he lost it big style obviously while giving it too much stick. The car has then collided with a parked mini cooper on the opposite side of the road, the Ferrari has then continiued on to hit a Lexus GS300 which was hit with such force that it got pushed up onto a Peugeot 206 GTI parked behind it, the GTI has then been pushed back causing further damage to two more cars. A system like this would cut that out. Obviously no system's foolproof but it'd make sense if you couldn't have anything higher than say a 1.6L / 100BHP until after you'd held a full licence for 2 years. They have a system similar to this in Australia, which I actually agree with, yes driving instructors will get more out of it but we should hopefully have better drivers..... They sit 4 tests, I think, in total each one allowing them to drive at later times, with more people in the car and more powerful cars too. We won't stop tossers driving like tossers, but we can stop tossers getting into cars that make them want to drive like tossers. If young impressionable types can't drive Supras the price stays high, insurance low and exclusivity remains for those who play the game. I also agree with Australia's laws on driving, not their stupid tuning laws but that you can't have a turbocharged car in the first 2 years or so of driving and the fact you have to prove you can handle the power if you wish you own it. I'm not sure, I'm going on what I saw on Motorway Patrol (which may be set in New Zealand..) and one of the cops on there said they're not able to own turbocharged cars until they've been driving for a certain amount of time. It may relate to petrol or diesel cars I'm not sure. There should just be a limit so you have to drive for say 3 years before owning anything powerful, I don't wish to go into it any further like specs of cars it's just my opinion so no rich kids will pass their test then get a powerful car before they have driving experience (Hulk Hogan's son in the Supra springs to mind).
