Guest high tower
its best to use the 3 plugs yellow white and red because thats got the sound and plays good or plug the three to a scart like me....
Stonkin
Surely that cable will only send videao signal not audio to? If your laptop is old and has a pcmcia socket you can get a card that will do videao and audio. Or you could always get the cable that will plug into the headphone socket on laptop and split to the red and white audio connectors to put into the tele or amplifier. You are kidding right? composite quality is LOUSY! Okay, the VGA connector (blue) or DVI connector (white) doesn't support audio, you would either have to use a seperate audio feed via either optical or analouge (white/red headphone style) or use an HDMI with audio

See if your TV has a 3.5mm audio INPUT line (not the headphone jack) Then use a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack (headphone sockets) from the laptop headphone port to the tv

Smallshinyant
Your best chance is that your plasma has a 3.5mm head phone style jack to input sound(if its suitable to use at the same time as VGA it will be near it. So if you can get a 3.5mm from your headphone sockt on laptop to 3.5mm on the TV cable you will probably find that may do the job.
