marc_p
Well, as some of you know, I currently have a '96 facelift Supra TT6 that replaced my N/A at the start of the year, I have been really enjoying this but it did not harbour my need for an Aerotop, so when I saw Foggys '98 N/A facelift Aerotop up for sale on here the other week, I immediately knew I wanted it, so I went and collected it that weekend and I was very impressed with it's condition and the way it drove, however speed wise it feels broken:d Anyway the intention when buying it was to put my engine and gearbox out of the TT6 into this and the engine and gearbox from this into the TT6, yes, thats right, it's going to be a TT6 - N/A Auto conversion, but as I will be giving the car to my mum, I don't think she'll be too bothered:D So after speaking to Dude at AFR, he put my faith in him and I shall be dropping both cars off on the 20th November for the swap plus a FMIC, Double decats and a new front crank pulley fitted. On top of that, over the winter I shall also be adding: Meister R coilovers RMM front lip OEM Skirts and Spats off the TT6 Top Secret Rear Diffuser and finally These tasty wheels:) : Anyway, a few picks of how the cars currently are: The TT6: The Aerotop as I picked it up: Then after I swapped wheels and spoiler over: So, all the above will be completed for next summer, however I would love to have my interior done aswell, I have a few ideas floating around in my head, but not rally decided on anything 100% yet, but I shall be keeping you all updated as it progresses:) Update on page 2: Engine and gearbox swap, BPU parts, front splitter and new stereo. supra_aero
The 5 spoke wheels are blitz type 03s. Very pricey and discountinued. Curious what the other ones are too. I reckon they are BBS's as well.
marc_p
What wheels are they mate? Wheels are Linea Corse wheels, linky: http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=335_337_514 ............don't forget to put in new facelift engine mounts too, or even change to the old prefacelift ones (would need the prefacelift brackets as well for this) Yup, I took this info in, cheers fella, I will be doing this The 5 spoke wheels are blitz type 03s. Very pricey and discountinued. Correct;) My only issue is that I have decided I really want the TRD kit, but funds won't allow that for this winter, it would have to be next year, so I might wait and get wheels that will fill out the arches next year, rather than using spacers (or would I be ok running some hubcentric spacers at BPU levels?) marc_p
Got the car back from AFR yesterday after having the following done: -Swap N/A and TT engines, gearbox's, Diffs, Dash cluster, wiring, etc -Supply and fit FMIC kit -Supply and fit FCD -Supply and fit Walbro fuel pump -Supply and fit Double de-cats with restrictor ring -Suplly and fit Oil Seal, Cambelt, Crank Pulley, camshaft cover gaskets and breathers -Change Gearbox and Diff Oil -Full Service Then when I went to pick the car up, Matt showed me a carbon fibre front splitter he had in stock, I of course had no choice but to buy the splitter:d Also, just before I dropped the car off with them, I put a new Sony Stereo in the car, it took me quite a while to find as I wanted a double DIN with iPod control and it had to look smart(ie no flashing lights and as few a buttons as possible) Anyway, as promised here are the pics, I just fitted the splitter this afternoon(fits perfect for anyone intersted) and just before I was going to take the roof off for the pics, it started to rain, so left it on . So anyway, what's next? Well, before spring I hope to have the following done: Have my private plate put on the car(hopefully within the next couple of weeks) New wheels Coilovers Ridox carbon sideskirts Top Secret rear diffuser New leather front seats Then next summer I want it resprayed back to the original RSP colour. Also do you have the model no. for the sony head unit as I am looking to get a new one soon. Funny story with the black one, I got my freind to drive it back from AFR whilst I drove the Aerotop, but he hasn't returned it yet, he borrowed it last night, then asked if he could hold onto to it to take a girl to the Cinema in it tonight:d The Stereo is an XAV60, the only flaw I have noticed though is that it is a bit slow on the iPod control: http://www.sony.co.uk/product/visual-entertainment/xav-
