Ark
Hello, I have a couple of tool related questions I was hoping people could help with: I have a nut to do up on the wifes car, that needs 184 lbft, so far so good. It's in a pig of a place, so I reckon a crowfoot wrench is needed. Given that a crowfoot is open ended, will it be able to hit the nut that hard without spreading? I have seen a 1/2" drive crowfoot in the right size (22mm) by King Dick Tools (cue childish snigger!). I've not heard of them before, but are they any good as toolmakers? Thanks. movistar
King dick have been around for years....ask any old duffer he would tell ya. But any crow foot subjected to that sort of torque is liable to spread or snap Imho
JustGav
I'll ask Phil what rated loading is on a Mac one and if it is covered against snapping
Ark
What about a full-ring equivalent of a crowfoot? Is there a fancy name for those, because I've looked everywhere and can't find anything... Actually, that's not quite true - I found a set of Sealey ring wrenches, but they're flexible, 3/8" drive...and too small. I think the whole thing will become academic anyway - Jo is going to take the car to a garage - it'll probably be cheaper (and quicker!!) than buying those tools anyway.
