I recall I've covered this before, thanks to someone handily providing before and after curves. This is an unmapped TTC conversion, i.e. just wired the VSVs open. I bet Toyota had the system absolutely seamless but thought it was a bit boring. Honda do exactly the same with the V-Tec. I can map a Honda engine to make more power with a seamless v-tec transition but customers hate it, they like the lumpy switch as it gives the impression of an acceleration hike rather than an actual one.
