jackso11
My mum hasnt used her car in ages, this morning I used it and one of the front bakes is stuck on but not fully. I drove for 5 miles and the front right disc was RED hot when i stopped and there was smoke coming from the pad. What can I do?
nasoup
Remove the offending calliper and use a g-clamp to try and free the pot. What car is it?

Havard
Gather round and enjoy the warmth..... It's either a refurb or a new caliper... H.

jackso11
the disc on there has done less than 1000 miles, same for the pads. Caliper is old though.

Dont you think the last 5 miles might of killed it and the pads ? If its glowing red thats approx 800 degees C and not good for a disc or the pads, its potentially been softened due to the high temp its got to and should be changed.
