dandan
Can anyone tell me the thread size for the oil feed into a Borg Warner turbo such as the 88/75 or 91/79 please? Is there any sort of restrictor needed if using a 4AN feed line? Also, what does the drain side look like in terms of drain hole size, flange shape and bolt spacing? Lee P
Feed is 1/4 bsp from what I remember and the return is 3/8 unc. Check it with that to see but I remember it being a bit different to the norm. Can anyone tell me the thread size for the oil feed into a Borg Warner turbo such as the 88/75 or 91/79 please? David Reid
I have just done this basically 1/4 NPT and you need to come down to dash 3. I did this with #4 adaptor in block, then straight #4 to #3 hose end on #3 hose, then #3 hose to #3 90 with 1/4 NPT #3 adaptor in the turbo. All bits available off the shelf from SpeedFlow Just incase you dont believe me about #3 being needed this is a quote from Jeff @ Full race about the subject:- "regarding the fitting, simply remove the fitting that comes with the BW turbos ( i dont know why they include them at all) and simply insert a 1/4" NPT male thread. normally we recommend using a 1/4" NPT male to 1/8" NPT female and then you can use a -3AN male to 1/8" NPT male. NEVER EVER use -4AN for an oil feed on GT Ball bearing turbos OR BW Turbochargers. if you do, it will require a restrictor to .050" or 0.035" or you will burn some oil as it slips past the turbine seal." dandan
I have just done this ..... 1/4" NPT i used, removed the one that comes on it Can either of you two confirm the drain is a 3/8 UNC? Also do these BW turbos need relatively large drains (dash 10-12) like conventional journal bearing turbos or is a smaller size suitable? np89
Major thread revival, can anyone confirm what Oil Feed line I need to get made up for a BW S366 turbo if I ring the guys at speedflow? What size is the fitting in the block?
np89
So far I'm thinking: 1/4 BSP to -3AN Adaptor out of the turbo -3AN 90 Degree fitting onto the above and attaches to a -3AN Teflon braided hose -3AN Straight fitting onto -3AN to -4AN adaptor into the block (have read online block feed is M12 x 1.25 which is -4AN, is that correct?)
