For F*&ck sake!!! Just have to wait another day to get my hands on my new rads and FMIC!!

Attero
I'm not joking... the couriers actually do wait and hide in the bushes for you to leave and then do it. If you stay in all day - they just won't deliver.
Digsy
I like the ones that leave a note saying (I've added the bits in brackets): "We tried to leave your parcel today [during working hours when you weren't in]. We will try to leave the parcel again tomorrow [durng working hours, so you won't be in then either]. If you don't want us to do this, please call us during working hours [which will have finished by the time you get this note] to arrange a different time [but its already too late to stop us delivering again tomorrow]. After three delivery attempts [including this one and the one tomorrow that you can't stop us doing] we will return the item to the sender [so you have one remaining chance to get it right]. Alternatively, you can arrange to collect the item form our depot [which is on the other side of the city from where you live, and you will have to go through rush hour traffic to get there after your working day ends and before we close - but its much easier all round if you do our work for us]" I sometimes think that the whole service industry is set up to cater for people who have nothing better to do than sit on their ass all day watching daytime TV. Havard
Never leave the house or go to the bog while you are wating for a delivery, service engineer or tradesman...... I got charged £10 by Virgin Media last week after their engineer apparently called and I did not answer. The fact that I had spent from 12pm till 5pm waiting for him wasn't enough, they had to charge me also. It looks as if the guy had banged on my door with a feather once and then legged it to his next job. His evidence consisted of a report that claimed that there was a black Audi on the drive.... It was good when arguing with the customer services that I could confidently confirm that I hadn't gone out..... H.

I caught a postman delivering a "we missed you because you're obviously out, come and collect it from the depot" letter. I opened the door as he posted it through, and I asked him for the package - He didnt have it. It was still in the depot. Happened to me about 5 times, different postmen who cant be arsed carrying or delivering goods. I complained, and from that point on, my post time changed from 08:00-09:00 to 12:00 to 13:00 every day...? weird.
monsween
I've had parcels returned to sender after being "delivered" 3 times with 3 cards and not one card turned up.

My postman went through a phase of "helpfully" signing for recorded delivery parcels on my behalf when I had paid extra for the service. Sometimes he would sign for it and then leave the parcel outside my door in full view of ther road. One day he even wrote me a cheerful little note saying the parcel require me to sign for it but as I wasn't in he had done it for me. I dobbed him in. Tosser. monsween
The one i hate is our bin is near the front door so sometimes there is a note saying the package is in the wheelie bin. I love raking through my bins to get a stinking parcel.

I love raking through my bins to get a stinking parcel. That's a nice touch if its delivered on bin day. On that note, and sort of related, week in week out (well fortnight really) the binmen will come at about 11:00 ish without fail, until you decide not to put the bins out at 6:00am or the night before. Only then will they turn up at 6:30am for the bins while yours is still in the back garden.
