Charlotte
Its f*****g awful. My old man had it, can take months to recover, does somthing to the nerves. Been stressed out at all or run down? Shingles isn't the same as adult chickenpox. You have to have already had chickenpox as a child to get shingles. That's the virus that affects all your nerve endings. Get well soon Jamie.
BK1
Charlotte is right. Chicken pox is caused by the varicella virus, infection at any age is usually mild, short lived and should give you life long immunity. ( Very occasionally can have more serious complications ). The virus then is held in check by your immune system and migrates to the nerve endings, at this point symptoms subside. Shingles is a reactivation of this virus in some people, often decades later when your immunity weakens. This is why people will ask "have you been stressed or run down?". It can be really painful because the virus is close to the nerves under the skin. Jamie should be fine, but I bet he wishes he'd had it when he was a kid. Best treatment, a couple of the Flux Babes should put some calamine lotion on for him
add heywood
Pussy spots? Isnt adult chicken pox called Shingles? Shingles isn't the same as adult chickenpox. You have to have already had chickenpox as a child to get shingles. That's the virus that affects all your nerve endings. Get well soon Jamie. Yeah the Mrs get shingles sometimes. It is caused by the same virus as chicken pox but has different symptoms. The nerve endings in the skin become inflamed and blister, usually in a specific area(s) rather than all over the body. Not very nice to have (especially with an unsupporting boyfriend ). Hope you get well soon mate

Septic
Sorry to hear that man! Chicken Pox can be deadly if you contract it later in life. I really do feel for you because I got it when I was 18 years old I think, its horrible and uncomfortable. Get well soon mate.
Axle
Chicken Pox can be deadly if you contract it later in life. First dibs on JP's Supra. Seriously though.. It is only deadly if the patient infected is physically weak. JP should just about be ok. First dibs on Supra.

AndrewOW
I've heard that caustic soda works a treat, or lime. Have you tried having a hydrochloric acid bath at all? That would sort it. I am not a doctor. The advice here should be taken with a pinch of salt. Maybe you should add some to your next bath.
Scott
To be fair even though that is just the kiddies one that is still pretty bad mate. When I had the chicken pox I got off ridiculously easy, I think I had about 20 spots in total. My Wife on the other hand had them down the back of her throat, all around the inside of her eyes, in her mouth, not to mention being covered head to toe. The reason you will be feeling so rough is simply because of how bad the infection is. I'm guessing that when we are younger our immune system is at it's peak and holding the worst of the chicken pox at bay is a much simpler task for our bodies. Bad luck bud, get well soon
