L18msy
Sadly i had to put my dog Basil to sleep today. The poor boy had cancer which came back aggressive after surgery. It has to be one of the hardest things i have and will ever have to do. I am totally gutted, he was a great dog and full of mischief. The house is empty without him and i am filling up just writing this. Rest in peace my wee buddy i am missing you loads already. Here is a few pics of Basil,

benkei
Feel for you mate. Although he was a pet, he's still a member of the family. At least you know that he had a good life and he knew he was loved. It's always better to let them go rather than suffer. you did the right thing, and he knows it. Nic
Feel your pain, they are our best friends and all they ask of us is our love, their dinner and a walk. DON'T CRY FOR ME WHEN I'M GONE Three score and ten are given to man, But ours is a much briefer span. So, though I give you all my heart, The time will come when we must part. But all around you, you will see, Creatures that speak to you of me; A tired horse, a hunted thing, A sparrow with a broken wing ... Pity - and help (I know you will) And somehow, I will be with you still; And I shall know, although I'm gone, The love I gave you lingers on. --- (Author unknown) ---

Paul
Been through it several times mate Like most of us dog lovers you know it's not just a dog but a companion and friend, losing them is one of the worst things to go through but think of all those good times and laughs you gave to each other over the years Such a difficult time, it gets easier but you never forget them and they leave their mark on you in a special way. RIP Basil

Havard
Sorry to hear this mate..!! We have had a dog for 15 years and of late he has been a real PITA, puking and pissing in the house and whingeing all the time. I have always joked that I'll be happy when we no longer have a dog.... Recently we had him to the vets and he had a blood test, the results may have meant that we would have had to call it a day. It was at this point I realised just how much I would miss him and I got an awful feeling in my stomach. Luckily the results were good, so I have a few more months or years of hoovering up dog hairs and picking up dog shit..... Chin up, he wouldn't want you upset..!! H.
