adnanshah247
Well folks thought id have a little change on project side of things and seen as many members would like to shift some un-wanted pounds i thought id put my new training plan up here for all to see that yes exercise does work and that you dont need to cut your wrists to get into shape. I am a smoker and in the last 3 years (from when i started) i have gone from a rock solid 6 pack to barely being able to see 2! i have a little belly now! not good. obviously ive kicked the habit now but needless to say, lets see how i get on towards my weight loss and my nicotine craves. For the next 4 weeks daily i will be cycling just over 20 miles a day and at the end of every week i will record my weight, my heart rate, the times it has taken for me to cover my journey and measurements of waist etc. etc etc. im sure each and everyone of you can give yourselves an hour or two a day to get in shape. motivate yourself by thinking how better your going to look for your other half etc. I live in Ilford and i work just past London Liverpool Street Station, the total distance my bike trip computer recorded this morning was 10.7 miles which i covered in 1 hour 3 minutes. My average speed was most of the time close to 9 mph. My aim is to reduce my weight over this 4 week plan, increase my average speed, decrease the time it takes me to get to work, get in to shape like i was before and kick my smoking habit. I hope other members here read all the information i keep posting up because honestly i have been putting this off for a very long time simply for 1 reason and that is i have been a LAZY Fu@k! Enough is Enough and for the rest of you, dont keep saying to yourself 'ow ill start next week' etc. because next week and tomorrow never ever manages to come! Obviously i will be controlling my diet as well but will also show that once in a while you can spoil yourself as long as though its done in proportion. All information will be present on my daily notes. Wish me luck and i hope many others will join in! Adnan

Josh
Cool well I've lost about 2 stone since the start of the year but am not down to what I'd like to be. I don't really care about how heavy I am as I'm quite muscular and about 6'3". I weigh 16 stone 12.3lbs as of this morning and will update you with my results too. I'd like to get in shape by May next year when it's time to get your shirt off during outdoor pursuits Good luck Oh and also I quit smoking last November and it was easy. supra_aero
wow in day 1 your bike got nicked. I would've warned you about cycling to work in the city. I've witnessed many bikes getting stolen outside my work. What lock did you have on it? Not that it matters now. So sorry to hear Adnan. On the plus side the last time I saw you, you looked as slim as joe average! So not really sure what your weight loss motivation is - lol

Thats just not on. I know you dont want to hear it but i would never leave a bike locked in the street and d-locks are the worst type of lock to have as they are very rigid they can be brittle if hit with a hammer. Josh
Going for a jog now. Going to do about 2 miles so will post results on my return. I need to get this weight loss restarted
Angarak
Good luck with it, I've just started day 1 of 90 of a program called P90X having recovered enough from a wrist injury (basketball related - not bathroom related!) to start doing some full body fitness work. RedM
Go for it Adnan. Don't let the theft of your bike get you down. Also, don't get hung up on rapid weight loss. You read some people on here going on about how they lost over a stone a month. Great. Good for them. Will it stay off though? Who knows. I've lost about 5 1/2 stone in the last two and a bit years. Not exactly rapid but the overall trend has been down and, tbh, I eat pretty much anything I feel like when I like. It's the running that has brought my weight down. I now do at least 5 miles 5-6 times each week.Sometimes it's a lot higher. What I've done is not go exercise crazy or diet bonkers. Rather, I've changed my lifestyle to be more healthy. It doesn't get the WOW headlines but it is a steady, consistent drop in weight with an ever increasing level of fitness. In short, what I'm trying to get across is that it's better to make a slow but permanent change to your life than something drastic which may be unsustainable. Josh
Back from the jog, ran about 1.5 miles and walked the last half a mile because I was knackered. It was much easier than last time I ran 2 weeks ago.

adnanshah247
well thanks to yesterdays drama's and my bike being nicked i thought of a new plan. instead of cycling the 10 miles to work (and having my shyt stolen) im going to start running to the station that is one stop away from ilford. so from my house ill be running to manor park station which is about a mile and a half away and then train the rest of the journey. as i get fitter i will runn further...... China Man
Good luck bud, will be keeping an eye on your progress. at the moment im doing the opposite of you, im doing a clean bulk, so im going up. plan is to compete next year and try and take a class. have fun dude, and remember diet is key, training is the Fun part. diet is key If you train smart then it will be much easier, food in take - food energy used = food store no trick there but exercise at different time of the day related to your food intake make a big difference in conversion of store fat to energy which is your main goal. get some proper advice from a trainer, when I need to reduce my body fat I did cardio before breakfast but you will need a plan that will suit you.
