Polo
etc etc Gearbox mount Neither the engine or gearbox mounts are finished yet, just fitted for now until iv made the sump, then once i take the motor back out to do the rest of the shell prep il finish the bracing on the mounts. Started to make the sump, mesured it takes 5ltrs, so once im done i want it to hold as close to that as poss again.

Polo
Been at it again today, got the sump prety much finished! Left on of the sides open until iv made the new pick up, to make it easier. Also need to do a leak test on it once the welding is finished. Phase two, make it hold 5ltrs again, So i got the engine back out to sort the trany tunnel, slight bodding needed to clear the bellhousing. Thats as far as i got! My angle grinder died so need a new one of them befor i continue, next it to trianglate the engine and gear box mounts. Then get the rest of the sound proofing out and start the seam welding. Polo
Not really alot to update, Seing as its and auto shell and its going to be manual, a little work is needed in this area. I managed to get a manual brake and clutch pedal from some one on another forum, but there was no where to really mount it like on s-bodies, also, i could not find a slave for a 350gt or z so im using an s14 one, so................. Holes line up but itl put the cylinder on the piss, Welded in a spreader plate as the bulk head is soo flexable welded in some studs to make fitting easier In the car Managed to pic up this accusump and a load of -12 fittings for pennies, i done the sums and new this lot is very close to £1k!!!! then got on with getting the shite proofing out!!! Sound proofing is finaly out and most the prep for seam welding done!!!! you think an s14 is bad!! try one of these!! Iv spent 4-5 nights, my bro and my girlfriend a day each and a mate 2 hole days!!!! Got some good second hand Cobra seats and some new rails, and made some cross rails to hold the seat in, still need to do the other side, but that does not need to be in any particular posision, Then got on with some of the seam welding and sealing some of the un-needed holes in the bulk head,

Polo
Thoght id update this while having my lunch today. This is going to be copied from another forum so some of it might not make sence, bear in mind this was all over last winter lol. Time to resurrect this thread!!! I was thinking of selling it and moving onto some thing else through out the year but in Portugal it worked and I came 4th so it's given me some confidence that it can work!! Throgh out the year iv had endless problems with the car, mainly power steering and transmission. Iv cured the power steering by fitting a 350z pump. So over the winter il be doing the following to make it a hole load more awesome!! Handling is prety bad and it feels like a bus to drive, so il be fitting/making fibre glass doors, front wings, rear 1/4s, boot and bonnet, chopping out all the metal I can with in the rules! Also to level up the weight loss and make it handle better I'm shifting weight around in the car for better distribution by moving the rad and other things to the back. Il also be remaking alot of things in light weight materials. Steering lock is a major issue with the car, loosing out in qualification due to weak angle so il be doing alot of work on the front steering and suspension. The car is going to be corner weighted next week so I have an idea of what iv got to work with and then compare it afterwards. Il also be fitting a v160 6spd box, this will be much better suited to the 3.4:1 diff I have now, which is alot of the problems I'm having with blowing boxes, ATM pulling away in 1st is like 2nd gear as it's so long geared! The other thing I'm going to do if I can afford it is change the hks ecu out for syvecs and go for closer to 700hp. To help with the power I'm hoping to freshen up the engine with rods, pistons, springs and cams. Right, I'm off the rob a bank lol Bit of an update, shes now prety much ready to go off to have the cage, inside and engine bay painted, 3 weeks after id planned but shit happens!! More stripping, i forever seem to be unding nuts and bolts on this, its never ending :wack: Big old alloy subframe very clean under there, not a spec of rust!!! And finished the seam welding, finaly!!!! Then a good coat of stonechip Should have the paint inside done by next weekend and i can finaly start final fitting stuff. A load of elec parts orderd, fues boxs, relays, junction boxs, switchs etc etc Finaly picked up sexy turboness!!Big thanks to OwenDevelopments! GT35/86r with HTA billit comp wheel and WRC metal bearing case! standard comp wheel HTA wheel The turbo even gets its own little oil filter!! -10 oil return flange Also took a trip up to EPRacing and collected some bits a bobs Nardi wheel, snap off boss, oil temp gauge for gearbox and locking catchs for bonnet and boot, as its going to be road legal.
