SKY TV Link - HELP

Recommended Posts

Ok, bought one of these and installed today. About 10meter cable run, with good quality cable.

Its a genuine SKY TV link, so should be good quality and I used all the sky connectors provided.

I went into the system menu on the sky box, pressed zero then one, then select and up pops the installer menu.

I turned on the power output to RF2, at which point the light on the SKY link lights up.

I connected the 2nd TV to the end of the sky link and tuned in, and sky pops up with a good picture.

This is where it goes wrong, and the remote wont work via the magic eye thingy.

If i unplug the second TV from the TV link and leave the TV link connected ONLY to sky and then press the remote, the sky turns over on the other room.

So in summary

1) cable is good

2)Connectors are good

3) TV link is genuine SKY

4) RF2 power output turned on

5) TV link light comes on when power from RF2 turned on

6) infrared reciever works and changes channel via the RF2 cable whenthe 2nd tele not connected

7) when 2nd tele is connected, picture comes through but infrared control of sky box via RF2 cable doesnt work.

HELP - why is this happening ?

Just tried something else and this gets weirder.

I diconnected the ariel cable that links the "TV link" to the 2nd TV, but left the cable connected to the TV link - the remote wont control sky in the other room.

I disconnected the ariel cable from both the 2nd TV and the TV link and the remote control will control sky in the other room !!

Basically, connect a cable into the TV link and it doesnt allow sly to be controlled. Im really perplexed. Ive tried another 2nd cable and the same thing happens !!!
