Man Cycles into Van.

I was driving along minding my own business, and im slowing down for traffic. An old man in full lycra undertakes me at warp speed, Going down the left hand side of all the traffic.

So I turn left at the lights and its an open road, apart from this cyclist who also wanted to go that way.. so I overtake him carefully as you do.

Anyway a few moments later I notice that a Van is waiting to come out of a right hand junction, so I flash him to go, and slowed down.

Cyclist undertakes me full pelt peddling like no tomorrow, and the van actually goes straight over and crosses the road down the opposing street. Meanwhile Mr Cyclist is doing a front wheel stoppie and faceplants himself into the side of the Van!!

Epic lols were had, but then I realised he'd gone and knocked himself unconsious! So one guy on the floor not able to do anything except breathe!!

Que people stopping and trying to get him out of the fetal position and take his helmet off, jesus christ some people are retarded.

Ambulance comes and the Po-leese, taking statements - anyway he finally came round and the first words he said to the police was:

"I f#cking beat that guy in the White Supra.."

I told him it was an Na, feels bad man - I lost to a Cyclist. :taped:

Cyclists that undertake at that speed imo are complete retards.

I qualify as a retard as a few years ago i was going down the inside of some traffic, no where near my brakes, as i went past a 40ft wagon the driver open'd his door which stopped me dead.

Luckily i only had internal bleeding in my leg and an end to my racing career aswell as 1k worth of physio over the next 6 months.

You should never flash people except to use it as a warning to your presence, as it says in the Highway code. Otherwise someone might take it as a signal to go, when the "flasher" is not fully aware of all the traffic around him, and then some idiot might zip up the inside into an accident that was initiated by you.

You have never flashed someone to go?

You strike me as the person that goes to flash someone! :D

I never flash people to go either, as I was a victim of a cycling accident over someone's bonnet before now because of that.

I hit the side of the car's wing and went flying over the top of the bonnet in a Harold Lloyd kind of fashion and ended up with a buckled wheel and mild concussion. I wasn't even going that fast, but the traffic was congested in the road I was in and someone flashed someone into a road next to me, and obviously didn't look in his mirrors first. It's not that funny when you have to carry your bike a mile or so to work after! :D

Got to feel sorry for the van driver. I dont know how it works being a cyclist (I guess it goes to court), but if that cyclist wants to claim for compansation. It will be the van drivers fault for not giving way, even though you told him to go.
