neilp9876
I have found a cable thats sitting there doing nothing and am trying to find out what its supposed to plug into. looking at the third attachment on this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35925 it appears it should plug into the EGBV. However on my car (93 TT) there is no EGBV and the cable is just hanging loose in the engine bay. The layout of the engine bay is slightly different to my car but I dont see the valve anywhere. i might be being dumb but can anyone help? Nic
It would help if you could post some photos of your engine bay so we can see what you mean. Do your turbos run sequentially (1st turbo, then 2nd turbo) or in parallel (both turbos together)? The EGBV allows some of the exhaust gasses to pre-spool the 2nd turbo, if it is not working then the 2nd turbo would come in later than it should. Its sequential, its a standard setup except that the EGBV just isnt there. that vsv is by passed if you have avcr boost controler im not sure about any others It does have an AVCR boost controller fitted so that may explain its removal. I'm having problems were the boost from the first turbo isnt smooth though, could the removal of this valve cause issues?
D8MOA
that vsv is by passed if you have avcr boost controler im not sure about any others out of interest why is this one bypassed with the AVCR fitted? i thought most EBC were fitted to turbo no1's vsv/actuator? Apexi have a specific diagram in the AVCR manual for the Supra, see page 47 http://www.apexi-usa.com/manuals/electronics/avcr_manual.pdf
D8MOA
ahh so it still fitted the same way as every other EBC (with the 1st turbo actuator) but they bypass the EGBV vsv? bit strange would of thought every company would of done the same
