2003 megane bad idle

Did you say you have changed the air filter?

There is a vacuum pipe that fits in just to the side of the filter housing, its possible thats come off..

 

no i havent changed it yet,

 

 

i was thinking of changin it along with cleaning the throttle,

 

as she hasnt had it serviced for a while.

 

 

il clean the throttle & idle valve and see?

 

wheres the idle valve located on these french things?

Is it a 16 valve? If so its not a nice job. You need to remove all the plastic inlet manifold stuff on the top of the engine, the the big plastic box at the back where the air filter housing bolts too. I'd remove the air filter, and check it's not got crap in the throttle body as well as clean that out.. Much easier and should do the same job..

 

Really would put it down to a bad coil personally. Does it drive ok, just not idle?

sorry forgot bout this thread,

 

 

yea car drives fine, doesnt miss at all.

 

how would it be the coil? if it runs fine on all 4 cylinders all the time?

 

PS i did clean the throtle out but no change
