Guest mangobowling
The car starts, idles and seems to have some power as the first turbo kicks in when the engine is cool. How ever as the engine heats up to normal running temp and I apply some boost pressure it starts to lose power badly and as I apply more throttle it starts to miss fire even more. It seems to be running way to rich as some times I can smell unburnt petrol. If I keep the boost pressure low it will slowly accelerate but no real power as hills are a struggle. I have had new plugs fitted with no change and have even tried to replace the MAF sensor but have only been able to find one with a different part number (same look) as I cannot find one with the correct part number. But this seemed to make it worse? Can some one give me any clues please
Chris Wilson
Have you checked if an intercooler hose is partly off or split? I mean REALLY checked? I get loads of MKIV TT's and Skylines in that people say they have checked out for a loose or split hose, and yet I miraculously find one As the engine bay temp rises the hoses soften and a leak gets worse.
