tbourner
Anyone on here know any good bike lights I can get, they need to be CHEAP and BRIGHT, preferably rechargeable rather than batteries, if they're batteries then AA are best as I've got a charger already, I know they'll be lower light than equivalent high volt kits but never mind. I saw this one: http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk/front-bike-lights/magicshine-bike-light-set-mj-816-1400-lumens.php?item=30&category=1&p=1&so=0 Looks pretty good for £100, I realise it won't actually be 1400 lumens, more like 900 or something, but still that's good enough, plus the low level thing would be handy. I'll probably get that, I was thinking about a Lupine system but they're so bleedin expensive!! Now I'm also going to need a headtorch, preferably that will go over a cycle helmet, would like to get one that's 200 lumens or more but I can't find that many. Brunton make some good ones (L3 and L5) but not sure where to get them from in UK. I think top of my list at the moment is the Fenix HP10, it's similar power to my TK10 torch which I love, plus AA batteries so I can charge it easily. Any other options from lumiphiles out there? tbourner
£100 is cheap! Definitely, look at the Lupine Betty 14 or something. I'd love a Polarion 'Night Reaper' CSWL, that's a proper torch!!
nuttynutz
i have no idea about bike lights, i just use a £1.99 light on my bike lol check out dealextreme.com they sell alot of accessories for all sorts, pretty cheap. they have a $77US 900Lumens for bikes they also seem to have the same one you posted up for $119 approx £75 delivered. not sure if its fake or what etc. but reviews seem pretty good. http://www.dealextreme.com/products.dx/category.
Abz
I am assuming you require a night riding light? i.e. one that actually lights up the road for night cycling rather than the £20 LED ones which are bright but more useful for letting other road users know you are there? If that is the case then the ones which you posted a link up seem very good, more like motorbike lights. I some rechargeable ones on the front of my bike, they are brilliant & only cost £25 from decathlon. It has 20 odd LED's together & provided's decent night light, though its main duty is to pulse the light so then other road users know I am there. Exactly, it's actually for the missus to put on the scooter when we're running the dogs, cos we go through the woods where as you can imagine it's absolutely pitch black! So we need A LOT of light given out, and a head torch so she can see where she's looking and not just where the scooter points. I'll probably use it on my bike for work but I'd be happy with a little cheap (normal cheap, not £100 cheap!) LED light thing.
