Robzki
Just a quick question, I am in the midst of fitting a walbro in tank fuel pump(sytec). The kit comes with a foam sleeve, Do I use this? I'm 99% sure I should but wanted to check that everyone else does too. I assume it is a noise suppressant? Also has anyone removed the pins from the upper plug and soldered those onto the replacement wires for the new pump? Thanks Rob
merckx
Yes, use the foam sleeve. I can't remember what the pins/ connectors are like. I recall using some crimp connectors though.
Wez
Yes, use the foam sleeve. I can't remember what the pins/ connectors are like. I recall using some crimp connectors though. I installed with crimp bullet connectors used at staggered lengths.
Chris Wilson
I use Raychem glue filled heat shrink crimps, available from RS Components. They are fuel proof and seal the wires totally.
Robzki
Thanks Done now, used the foam sleeve. Opened up the new connector(easily done), removed new wires from connectors, soldered on old cables to new connectors, put back together. sorted. It was much easier than I make it sound. thanks again Rob
