ellis
Just replacing the cam belt tensioner and have pulled off the hydraulic plunger to test the tolerance. The manual says 8 - 8.8mm for the depth of protrusion for the plunger - mine's at 9.8mm. Is this acceptable or should I look to replace the part? Quite specific I know but I know somebody will know Edited September 14, 2010 by ellis (see edit history)
Terminator
Get a new one, not worth risking the consequences of putting that one back on.

Need4Speed
... The manual says 8 - 8.8mm for the depth of protrusion for the plunger - mine's at 9.8mm. Is this acceptable or should I look to replace the part? I read that as anything over 8.8mm is worn beyond its service limit and needs to be replaced. ellis
I'll order one - had to put the car back together with the old one in for now as no garages or suppliers had one in stock in Nottingham area today!!
