Tricky-Ricky
Need to get my wife some car insurance, but the problem is that she will be a learner driver, at a mature age:innocent: Now as i have import and modified vehicle insurance, i cannot add her to my insurance, so what would be the best and cheapest option? can i take out a policy on the car that she will be driving and add here as a named driver, or is she better off taking out her own, the car will be an older model, say 95-200 and small diesel hatchback. Gaz6002
Get her a policy and start building the NCB up ASAP.
Mike
I'm not sure you can get a car policy without having a full license first? I would probably name her for now - you'll be giving her some lessons I take it?
TTRickeh
I'm not sure you can get a car policy without having a full license first? You can, I was fully comp in my name on my first car whilst I had a provisional. Was with Norwich Union ('Aviva') if that makes any difference. Stonkin
I agree with Gaz. Insuramce always sucks at first, theres is no way to ever get it lower than building up experience and no claims.
probrox
Is it Direct Line that do NCB for named drivers? If so, that could be worth a shot. I'm sure my sister was a named driver on her other halfs policy when she first started driving.
