Sorry this bit:

I wouldn't have said twat Jazz ;)

Celebrities (many of whom may be twats btw) are possibly more recognisable than yourself...just a thought.

I think Michael or RedM posted this a while back...

You need one of these:

We're actually trying to help you make the right decision. That decision might be to get a dog, but we're just exploring why you want one and what you intend to do if the worst happens and you are confronted by chavs.

I just want something for my family and my safety due to the new business/area i live. I dont intend to hurt people but the last thing i want is someone pulling a knife and trying to kill someone. Having a gaurd dog for protection is no harm. But iv decided im getting a fresh puppy becaue i also want it to be loved

If you think that strutting about the place with a big dog will make you invincible you'd be wrong.

You do realise Jazz that a lot of these chavs you talk about have dogs themselves.

Dogs that most likely have been trained to fight other dogs.

These low-lifes torment their dogs from and early age to make them mean and vicious.

By all means get a dog but not as some form of defence.

It's a bit like carrying a knife around for protection, it'll cause a lot more problems than it'll solve.

Think what you like im a bad pet owner. Maybe I'd be better of with a gun hmmmm just like most chavs carry these days or even better a knife:d

Well you better get a dog with super powers to save you from guns! No dog you buy will protect against being shot!

As a "Pet owner" I'm sure your a good owner who will show the dog loads of love and treat it right. Don't bother with the "Protection dog" rubbish. There are far simpler forms of protection if you really feel you need it (Which I think is a confidence issue with you!)

Think of it like this........... If you and your family are really going to love this dog, like you say you are and I believe you will, do you really want to put it in danger of being killed? Kicked to death or stabbed or ripped to bits by the said Chavs Staff? Or have to have it put down when it bites someone?

True and valid point

Large dogs take lots of commitment, my pair run 8-10 miles a day ,rain or shine, and 4 hrs a week training.

They are a pleasure to watch across the fields running ,leaping 10 foot ditches in a stride, but the thought of them attacking anyone horrifies me!

Buy a taser mate!

The worst can happen is you stun yourself!

Sorry to re-animate a dead corpse guys but I have to know, what's the CHAV death toll after a year then, Jazz? How's the house-training going? :)

Epic thread btw; I just couldn't put it down! :rlol:

Oh, while I'm at it Jazz mate, how does buying a puppy make any sense as a guard dog anyway? I mean, by the time it's old enough to 'leap into action', you could be another statistic and that could be just from training him! :D

Hello? Jazz?
