TopgunTT
Hi guys, We have a new arrival due this week that is the main reason why the Supra is up for sale and i have to get something more suitable for the family. I have been looking at the Audi A4. Just wondered what are peoples thoughts on them and what is the difference between the A4 and S4? Cheers, Bill. Not many mate, took one this afternoon, being an audi its going to be reliable, they go well and are almost silent at speed unless you have the boot in, has valves in the exhaust that open when your foot is down and you get a bit of the V8 growl. TopgunTT
Looks really nice, I will have to start looking at the S4.
TopgunTT
From what i can work out the main difference is the S4 has the V8 under the bonnet, Very nice
Havard
Looks wise there is not a lot in it but the 4.2 would be fun. We have two at the moment a 143Hp 2.0 Tdi, loves motorways..!! A white 2.0T Tipronic, lots of fun (211Bhp) I will be having another after these as they are that good. H.
JamieP
Watching the top gear review is what made me go for one, i wanted something respectable looking, nippy, 4WD and 4 doors, there was not a lot of other options really.
TopgunTT
How long have you owned it Jamie? How do you find running/Service costs mate?
JamieP
Not long, 21mpg and it was service just before i got it, i did just buy some new front pads from Audi, £105 but they are huge brakes.
Havard
Our two are in this post. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=2815407&postcount=7 We have had a lot of cars over the years and we are very happy with both at the moment. Granted, neither are more that 18 months old. The white one has 25K on the clock and as far as I know there have been no problems. H. edge
Just unsure of the differences? One will rape you every time you need to fill and will do on a regular basis and the other wont. The 1.9 tdi is meant to be the stronger engine compared to the 2.0tdi but thats only through hearsay. Will be looking at getting a tdi a4 or a6 estate next year though but have not begun the forum trawling for all the niggley and things to watch out out threads. Wiki has a good article on the comparisons between models - I know, because I was considering the same Audis for myself earlier this year I was very impressed with the power, driveability and reliability.. just not impressed with the spare part costs (although I should be used to it, Toyota isn't much better!). Of course, I decided on an Aristo for my sins - I just couldn't help myself with getting something to modify :s I have a S4, superb car as a daily driver, dont trust the fuel trip though, i did and i ran out of petrol when the trip said i had 10 miles left in it:rolleyes: Do you trust the fuel gauge in the Supra on reserve tank? I would have thought that the way you drove that you'd not let any of your cars get that low on reserve tank
