sock body silver supra with different wheels...

passed supra fly then came for me.. he was doing about 40 mph more than me about 100 meters off my rear and I just planted it :ecstatic:

needless to say there was a lot of noise and I think he was pretty shocked :nyah:

Not that the Motec one aint any good , but i would still use a seperate Boost controller and let the Motec keep its ref point for boost so it still knows whats going on . The advantage to having a seperate boost contoller is that you can self ajust for problems or race days ..without having to fire up the laptop all the time...just a thought .

What's controlling the boost? MoTeC?

well whatever it is isnt working, as the WG spring is 1.1 bar

Chris, if you want longevity I would aim for 1.3 bar, mine runs 1.2 on the street

Alex has a good point tho, what is controlling it??

You must remember you have no knock control now with the Motec

Yep, major downside im afraid .. no knock cont. :thumbdown

now you see what we mean when were talking about EMS that are for race cars only .... for a road car, knock feedback is very important.

Whilst I agree that phantom noise on the big boosting single can somewhat throw off the sensor, but hey, its those that take the time on the dyno to filter this out and tinker with the timing until its right ...

Be nice, that my lil old AEM will retard timing and increace fueling, and decreace boost upon a higher V reading.

Whos your Daddy now? :D :nyah:

edit, re, the boost control, you can have the EMS control it, and feed it into a potentioal meter(dial) and play with the V vs boost reading and calibrate it so that you can send the EMS a seperate reading(fudged) from its own sensor so that you can control the feedback, and adjust the boost.

well shane at motec USA tells me different. :)

Motec would rather conquer the FBW as alot of race cars use this, but no knock control ..

yes. I specifically asked this when the car was being tuned....

Otherwise I would have gone with the Fcon as I know after lots of conversations with you that it does deal with knock. :music:

I am not convinced of that Chris, think it needs investigation TBH.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but the VVTi shuts the TB when it sences Knock as well as pulling timing ...Seeing as Motec have not yet sussed FBW and the VVTi runs it and ( could also be wrong here) that you have had to rid the car of th FBW for a stock TB ..then how does it have full knock control????

exactly miggles, but it doesnt even have a simple normal knock control, ie, V relayed back to the ECU to make knock adjustments ... AFAIK, forget the Vvti one .. ;)

I will dig deeper..

I am considerign running an HKS a/f knock amp setup for piece of mind.

And what exactly do you expect the knock amp to do to prevent detonation Chris??
