Stonkin
Hi Peter, in terms of buying / owning / maintaining. not mine Girlfriends family have seen a lovely one and are seriously considering part exing a couple of things for it, including her M3. She is not totally keen on the idea as it wont be a car that can be run around in like the M3, but equally it will be more a collectors piece and hopefully not depreciating anywhere near as much either. Just trying to find as much as i can about them so i can offer some valid advice to the family. The one seen has only done 11k miles! far
I looked into this a while ago and based on a number of factors included their age, power output, (now) retro styling and cost I decided to wait a bit and go for a 360 instead, wont be for a while yet mind! For a decent RHD 348 with good miles you are looking at at least 30- 35k for a decent 360 its 40-45k - more power, better & newer styling - I know which one I prefer! Stonkin
I agree i much prefer the 360 to, one of my favorites actually. This one is 35k. 360 is out of reach though.

tooquicktostop
Very interesting I love this car, I have test driven several, have you driven one? They are not very quick and the gear change is very difficult to get used to I have to say it is IMO one of the best looking Ferrari's ever made Now.... Mark from Phoenix worked on these some years ago and as he was building my single Supra I was looking at getting one of these, he said he had never come across a car that broke so often, and was so expensive to fix, its worth bearing in mind I would still get one, but thats just me, I think they look amazing Saying that the 308 Carb has to have one of the most wonderful interiors of any Ferrari, just amazing, take some time to visit The Ferrari centre in Kent, they are very helpful and dont dismiss first time buyers, they are also very honset Hope you get the car you want
paulrenn
348 didn't have a good reputation for handling on the limit, and personally I don't like the plastic bars over the lights at the back. 308 is much purer. Check out JC's hair on this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukFXf9FwDaM
j_jza80
I love the 348, such an underdog and looks like a 355 that's been in a knife fight the 355 is dull in comparison IMO. From what I've read about them though, apparently Having £3k disposable a year is a good idea My head would probably go for an NSX
edge
Drove a 348 and a 355 and the 355 won me over. Alot easier to drive and the noise was great

edge
Same. I also thought the 348 gearbox was awful. Yes its got reverse in the wrong place so i imagine a few have been rammed into to the front of other cars and one of them horrid gear selector gates. I cant remember if the 355 had a gate on it but it was much easier to shift.
Thorin
A mate has a LHD one. http://www.kulthea.net/wp-content/gallery/ferrari/P4260003.jpg As people have mentioned, they're not very powerful, awkward gear change, but his has been reliable. Servicing costs are huge as you'd expect though.
