TopgunTT
Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a fireproof safe/box/tin for the house to keep some valuables in. It doesn't have to be massive. Just wondered what you guys used or could you recommend one. Cheers, Bill
Chris Wilson
Modern new safes are a LOT of money, yet seemingly superb quality used ones at auction seem to fetch peanuts. Does it need some kind of current insurance approval? Small safes are pretty useless as they just get carried away to be opened at leisure. Floor safes are best for small items, IMHO, but the neighbours may think you are burying the missus if they hear you digging up the foundations
TopgunTT
I'm just after something that i can hide in the house and is fireproof, It doesn't have to be insurance approved, Just after that bit of extra safety.
Terminator
I use a Cathedral fire box. It can be locked with a key, but pretty pointless as it is briefcase size and can be carried away. It holds copies of important documents. The chamber is pretty reasonable in size probably holding about the same as a leaver arch box file.
