Guest Deano1983
Hi Just wondering why people do this? I thought one of the good things about the supra TT was the lack of lag when you out your foot down due to the 2 turbo's? Or am I talking crap? I have heard people say about taking the 2 turbo's out and putting one massive one in but why not put 2 massive ones in? Is it down to space? Thanks Dean
Fitz
More Power with a Single Turbo setup (with supporting mods) Big Twins is pretty Much two single turbos. (Check out LeeP's Garage) I often hear that statement and end up explaining, normally in more detail, but someone wil be along soon.

j_jza80
Big twins are a more complex setup than a single, and take up more room. The advantage over a large single are slight, and many take the view that it's not worth the extra outlay. The stock twin turbo setup is designed to run sequentially, so that one turbo does all the low RPM stuff, and the second joins it at circa 4k rpm. Modern turbo designs allow a larger single turbo to flow more, and have similar (and sometimes better) spool characteristics than the stock turbos. Also, with the price of replacement stock turbos getting more expensive, you'll find more and more single turbo cars coming onto the market. These are a minefield as there are just so many specs available, much of it cheap junk from Ebay USA. If you go for a single turbo car, or want to upgrade an existing car, post the specs on here and get some feedback.
