Matt H
Maybe of little interest to most. Take a look at the photos taken at the fight promo. I've linked the following article on the Mail's site about Hayes recent comment that his fight with Audley "will be as one sided as a gang rape" (incidentally, this thread has nothing to do with that comment, but I thought I'd say I found it expletive hilarious!). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1310028/Boxing-champ-David-Haye-compares-sided-fight-Audley-Harrison-gang-rape.html I noticed this when I looked at the fights stats shown towards the bottom of the article: Haye's height is billed at 6'3" and Audley's height is 6'4" - only 1 inch separating them. I thought that had to be a mistake, as Audley towers over Haye in the photos. I decided to do a bit more digging as I will probably have a flutter on this fight. Haye's billed height constantly came up as 6'3" and other photos of Haye standing next to Audley showed the same significant height difference. Audley's height gets billed at 6'4" or 6'5" from what I found during my brief search, but even 2 inches doesn't add up from the photos. A few sites I dug up from my search show that I'm not the first to discuss this! For anyone that cares - thoughts?

tbourner
She [Louise Harman] said: ‘I don’t know how he can compare rape with boxing. I think it is insensitive and it makes me feel very angry. ‘They have chosen to go in for a boxing match and it is between two strong men, whereas rape victims don’t stick themselves in a ring and say, “Do that to me”. ‘They have the chance to fight back, whereas we haven’t got a chance.’ Isn't that the whole point of a comment like that though? To exagerate beyond the truth? Apparently 9 out of 10 people enjoy gang rape. Anyway, yes I'd say there's at least 4" difference between them. You think Haye is a right nob at the start, then Audley just doesn't shut up. Haye was actually funny towards the end. Still, they're both nobs and should be far more proffesional. Thorin
They used to be best of mates though... is this really hatred towards each other, or just playing up to the cameras? I think it's pretty obvious that Audley is just doing this fight for the pay cheque.
ilicos
What are you trying to add to the debate there Ilicos? Sorry, wrote text there but seems to have been deleted. I was just giving you their confirmed heights. I had originally written, "I agree there looks to be a height difference but as per BoxRec they are in fact 6.3" and 6.4 1/2"" Is that a good enough answer for you Matt? Thorin
I can believe Audley is that tall, I didn't think Haye was as tall as 6'3" though...

Scott
It's all lies. I guess they can lie about their heights, just not about their weights. The WWE do this all the time, 400lb big-show etc. Every wrestler being 6'8" and upwards, it's psychology

Scott
They might do it in the UFC with regards to height also, they just aren't as clear cut and obvious. Granted the WWE go wayyyy over the score. I'd say Haye was 6'1" at a stretch with his shoes on 6'2".

I'm just surprised it's actually his billed height and there doesn't seem to be any information to the contrary. Even searching for info on WWE wrestlers, you’ll find a bunch of info about real heights. Obviously the WWE is just actors and therefore to make it more entertaining things like size and weight are exaggerated, but in a professional sport? Scott
Maybe he just likes to think he is that height. Might be a personal thing. I have met lots of people that quote themselves as being an inch or so taller than they are. I've had guys ask me my height, and when I reply 6'4 they say I must be more as they are 6'x.... when they clearly aren't. I'd put it down purely to psychology, whether deliberate or accidental. Edit: Again, not professional but quite funny, look up Tom Cruise's height
Suprab1
Why such dislike? I've never really liked harrison to be honest. I would also like to see haye do it in style & get in the ring with wladimir klichko next. If it wasn't for Haye i think the heavy weight division would be dead, atleast he gives us boxing fans hope & i like his attitude (reminds me of Naz in a way)
