Kopite
i'd go and get an optician to look at you mate. GPs haven't got the proper equipment to tell what kind of conjunctivitis it might be. don't tell him i said that though you gettin any discharge? like white or pus (ew!) or watery? any itchiness? is it red? feel like you've got something in your eye? Kopite
depends mate, you get any benefits for anything? any tax credit or HC forms? you might have to, usually £18 but i reckon it's worth it. depends what type of conjunctivitis you might have. Kopite
yeah that don't sound too good! keep using the ointment but might be worth gettin checked. sounds like it's definately bacterial, what;s the name of the ointment you got? might be worth gettin looked at anyway - depends how closely the GP looked at your eye, make sure you dont contaminate your other eye too - can be done with towels etc!! Miguel
Sorry to jump in ..but I have something I wonder if you could help with . For a long long time now I see shadows like black dots. For example if I stare at a white wall I can see a tiny black dot ..it doesnt normaly show up in everyday life just now and then and I was told it was excess protein in the eye fuid ???? dont know ..is it anything to worry about?. Just curious more than anything.
Kopite
the ointment is called chloramphenicol, he said to put it in both eyes , which i thaught was wrong yeah that's the main antibiotic then, he's thinkin it's bacterial too. use it in both eyes as well - stops it developin in the other eye just in case. i'd go and see an optician as well though. you wear any contact lenses etc? Jake
Mig, Pete Don't bother asking Ro about technical eye stuff. Remember, he works at SpecSavers - the KwikFit of the optometry world.
